Not sure about some of the teams preparing to line up at the South Africa World Cup?
Well, here’s what some of them would be if they were Aussie travel destinations…
Argentina is… Nimbin (New South Wales)
Full of plenty of highs that could cause anyone some trouble, but likely to be their own worst nightmare
Holland is… Western Australia
Like much-fancied Dutch teams and ultimate glory, too few travellers make it there
Serbia is… Darwin (Northern Territory)
It’s not one of the big boys yet, but it’s capable of challenging the best
Spain is… Fraser Island (Queensland)
Exciting and refreshing. Possibly the best there is
Germany is… Uluru (Northern Territory)
Solid and with plenty of heritage. Always seems to be there at the end
North Korea is… the Outback
Potential to turn dangerous if things don’t go well
England is… Cairns (Queensland)
Exciting and with a high chance of scoring, if they don’t get too pissed and throw it away
Portugal is… the Whitsundays (Queensland)
Pretty boys most concerned with looking good
Brazil is… Bondi Beach (Sydney)
Perennial favourites with the quality to back up the glamour
Denmark is… the 12 Apostles (Great Ocean Road)
Home of the beautiful people and solid football, but could crumble early
The Ivory Coast is… Mission Beach (north Queensland)
Full of tropical, crowd-pleasing thrills and spills
The USA is… Mildura (major fruitpicking hub)
Hard-working. often stays longer than expected
France is… Ningaloo (home to the giant whale sharks)
Heavyweights well worth seeing, although they sometimes sink quickly without trace
However, that’s just the first 13 countries. If you’ve got any ideas for the remaining 19, post them below…
Other teams playing are South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, Nigeria, South Korea, Greece, Algeria, Slovenia, Australia, Ghana, Japan, Cameroon, Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand, Slovakia, Switzerland, Honduras and Chile.

australia’s gotta be adelaide… damn boring (i mean the way they play, not the country)
