Greyhound bus rolls in Northern Territory

A Greyhound bus carrying travellers from Alice Springs to Darwin rolled this morning, seriously injuring several passengers.

A spokesperson for the company said at least one passenger was critically injured but emergency services were still establishing the conditions of the further 16 on board.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:30am (ACST) 140 kilometres north of Tennant Creek with the cause of the roll still to be determined.

“Greyhound Australia has always made the safety of its passengers and staff its number one priority,” said the company’s CEO Robert Thomas.

“The company’s incident management control team has immediately swung into action,” he added.
