Robert Mugabe is less hated than Jamie Neale, says Zoo Weekly
British backpacker Jamie Neale, who made global headlines after getting lost in the Blue Mountains for 12 days, has expressed how shocked he is at the level of public anger directed towards him.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph he discussed a recent poll of the world’s most hated people, in Zoo Weekly.
Jamie, 19, ranked 29th in the vote, beating Zimbabwean leader Robert Mugabe.
Much of the bad feeling towards him is attributed to various stories, a public criticism by his step father, surrounding what happened to the money he earned from a media interview after being found.
But Jamie insists he acted fairly, giving away $16,000 of the $100,000 he received, plus arranging $100,000 of free advertising for the rescue service.
The backpacker said of the poll: “I beat Robert Mugabe. How many people are that infamous before the age of 20?”
He now plans to return to Australia, this time armed with a GPS device, to complete his original trip.
Well I would definetely be making sure I had a GPS this time around if I were him.

Really 16,000 considering his rescuers from the SES where pretty much Volunteers and all left there families to look for his silly butt. He should have given the SES all of it.
