Cyclone Hamish spinning into control?

Cyclone Hamish, which was threatening to cause havoc along the Queensland coast including Fraser Island, has been downgraded to a category 3 storm. Residents and tourists aren’t in the clear yet however.

A severe weather warning has been issued for the coast from Sandy Cape to Coolangatta on the Gold Coast. Beaches have been closed on the Sunshine and Gold Coast and the State Emergency Service is sandbagging homes on the Sunshine Coast

Here’s the latest from the ABC

  1. I hope it blows itself out without causing too much mayhem up there. The headlines may have been dominated by the bushfires in Victoria, but there has been considerable carnage caused by flooding up in Queensland. Real life ‘it doesn’t rain, it pours’ stuff, with remote areas cut off and tourism being hit hard by the negative press.
They could do withouit more damage.

  2. Yes, the weather doesn’t help much in these tough moments we are passing through because of the financial break down.
Hopefully I have been in Sydney all the time, avoiding both bushfire and floodings. Lucky me :-p
